The EmpowerAbility project continues its rollout with the launch of an activity focused on focus groups.
Organized in France, Spain, and Slovenia, these focus groups represent a key stage of the project. Their aim is to closely identify the needs, expectations, and experiences of people living with mental health disorders (MHDs), as well as the professionals and organizations who support them on a daily basis.
Why focus groups?
Before developing the training content, it is essential to listen to the people concerned. These participatory discussion sessions allow us to:
better understand the difficulties encountered in financial management
identify the barriers to social inclusion
gather concrete proposals to strengthen autonomy, self-confidence, and empowerment
This approach reflects the spirit of the project: to co-create training that is truly tailored to the needs of people living with mental health conditions.
Mobilizing local stakeholders
We have therefore reached out to several committed organizations, particularly associations working to promote the participation and self-expression of people with intellectual disabilities. Their expertise and field experience are essential to ensuring the relevance of the future training modules.
The contributions gathered through these focus groups will directly inform the next phase of the project: the development of the educational content.
